Scotland Running Retreat
May 12 - May 17
From the harbours of Glasgow and heather fields in the Scottish Highlands to the isolated lochs of the Knoydart Peninsula, this retreat will be an adventure into the remote and untouched landscapes at the ends of the European continent.
Join us on an experience like no other running through the ancient trails surrounding historic Gaelic communities and immerse yourself in the wild and breathtaking scenery and cuisine of Scotland on this carefully curated running retreat.
Scotland has a rich history of medieval battles, Gaelic culture and a world-famous shipbuilding tradition which thrived on the harbors of Glasgow, where our journey begins. We’ll gather for a welcome dinner before setting off to Lochgoilhead where we get our first glimpse of the Scottish landscape, followed by a refreshing run and hike around Loch Goil before embarking on a scenic drive to witness the snow-capped Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest peak, in the town of Fort Williams. We’ll spend the day running through ancient trails accented by scattered ruins and views of the famously narrow Loch Hourn, ending with a shared meal by a campfire, loch-side overlooking Knoydart Peninsula.
From here we’ll run together on the feature trail of the retreat over the hills arriving into Inverie, a remote village on the Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands isolated from the main road network. We will then reach the thin line of whitewashed buildings bordering the shore of Inverie Bay set against the imposing mass of Sgurr Core Choinnichean. After exploring the Peninsula through runs and hikes taking in broad vistas of the classic hills and highlands, we will drop by the local brewery to share stories with the locals while gazing at the surrounding munros and stunning Loch Nevis. Lastly, after a run along the coastline we’ll sit down for breakfast before boarding a small ferry to Mallaig harbor where we’ll take a scenic train back to Glasgow, ending the experience with a meditative journey providing time to reflect and unwind.
Each day will be accompanied by local and authentic Scottish cuisine as well as yoga and meditation sessions led by our expert instructors who will guide us on a journey of inner peace and self-knowledge.
